Letter to: Julia Goldsworthy MP
Cornwall's Rail Sleeper
16th September, 2005
Dear Miss Goldsworthy
With Lord George, late of the Bank of England, showing concern
for the health of British Rail, we do have an opportunity to establish
a principle, of benefit to users of our railways throughout Britain.
If Brunel had known of this principle, he would have saved his
own life. He died of stress created by the harassment of trying
to finance essential national services.
When the railways of Britain were first built, the money for their
creation did not exist. New money was needed. Attempting to borrow
enough money, which did not exist, was a nightmare for Brunel.
If the Bank of England had been kosher at that time, the Bank of
England would have minted or printed all requisite new money and
given Brunel whatever he needed to do his job.
A simple straight forward rational method of financing an essential
national asset, required by the nation to create the wealth, which
money would come to represent.
But the Bank of England at that time was not kosher and never has
been. The Bank of England is today unable or unwilling to do its
job.
It is not too late for Lord George to discover the error of his
ways and from his retirement in Cornwall, get British Rail running
on the rails correctly for the first time in history.
Consider for one moment the cost of building a dirt-track from
Falmouth to London to carry a stagecoach and compare the cost of
building that road with a motorway over the same distance.
A very great deal of new money would have to come into existence
for that purpose. But since the Tonnage Act of 1694 that new money
had to be borrowed into existence. It had to be issued as credit
by the Bank of England. That is still the method by which new money
is created.
"Labour accepts that new money should be created as credit
by private banks".
Lord George should know this, although it is possible that he has
been deceived. The Bank of England is a misnomer. The Bank of England
is part of a global banking system, that is not British.
It could well be, more than your life is worth to blow the whistle,
even Presidents of the USA have been assassinated for doing so,
such as Abraham Lincoln, John Kennedy et al. But they tried to put
things right in secret, on the quiet, so their intention died with
them.
Nevertheless if we lose our night sleeper from Penzance to London
it will be because life is too precious to risk losing it.
Shred this letter if you must, or perhaps show it to the other
MPs who went to London with you on Wednesday 14th September 2005.
