Letter to: HRH The Prince of Wales
24 September 2005
Sir,
In your speech at the Castle of Mey you made a plea for us to slow
the pace
of the Rat Race, which seems to increase all the time. It could
be that this
race is imposed upon us, and is not in our nature to run it at all.
My
patients seem to look forward to a holiday, when they can slow-down
or stop.
The reason we have to race in order to stand still, is because
we use credit
as our currency and that makes fair trading impossible. We are forced
into
commercial warfare. That is a war in which there is no place for
ethics or
honesty and no respect for human life.
The way to allow everything to slow down is to restore to the Crown
the sole
right to create and issue new money. King William gave away that
right in
1694 when the Tonnage Act gave birth to the Bank of England.
If you would be willing to restore that privilege to the Crown
we could
re-establish fair trading, to give us all a chance to work in step
with
Nature.
I have the honour to remain, Sir, your Royal Highness's most humble
and
obedient servant,
Doctor Edward C Hamlyn MBChB
