MG Rover, shot in the foot by the lot of us
We are all responsible for the loss of our motor car industry,
through our insistence, that ignorance of high finance is our birthright.
Anyone who has owned a Rover motor car, knows that we can build
the best cars in the world. But that does not mean we know how to
finance our skills and keep them financially viable in the modern
world.
Today's commercial warfare is not cricket. It is a dirty game in
which there is no Geneva Convention, no place for honesty or ethics,
and no respect for human life. All is now fair in love, war and
business. We shrug that off as being none of our business and allow
lawyers, bankers and politicians to do their worst.
We end up redundant, but not sweeping the streets. Instead we get
a job as a parasitic bureaucrat, a job in a new useless quango or
as a new breed of enforcer, giving every fresh whim out of Europe,
the steel jaws of a gin trap. We saw four smart boys from the City,
strip £40 million out of MGRover for the cost of a £10
ticket. These lawyer's cum bankers conned BMW out off £500
million and blew it. They planned to take China for a ride and even
persuaded Tony Blair and Gordon Brown to plead with the Chinese
to let themselves be robbed.
Why do we offer ourselves as sacrificial lambs for gamblers in
the stock exchange. Patricia Hewitt MP confessed that there was
nothing that she and her colleagues could do to save MGRover from
the rocks. I am sure she thought she spoke the truth. She would
have done better, to confess that none of them know how to reverse
the headlong rush into disaster and preserve one of our very finest
national assets, for our use, as the storm clouds gather, so near
at hand.
We can all sense danger, lying in wait for us, in the path we now
travel. We can all see debts going well beyond our ability to ever
repay. These things are visible. We are driven to drown our fears
in drugs and alcohol. But we have not yet chosen to wake up and
observe the fact that the credit industry is booming as never ever
before in this country. We have heard it happened in France, but
we never thought to see it happen here.
We allow private financiers to create and issue the pound as credit.
But we gloss over the fact, that we have no idea what those few
words mean. We refuse to see that those few words wipe out our coal
industry, our shipbuilding industry, farming and fishing and motor
manufacturing. At the same time we inflate a Government that cannot
govern, into an all devouring monster, which will tax us into extinction.
You may well ask, how does a harmless little trick, such as counterfeiting
our currency, cause so much damage. Well I will tell you.
Whosoever creates and issues our currency has total control, power,
dominion and sovereignty over us. Counterfeiting money should be
a criminal offence, it is done by criminals.
Appointing criminals to run our lives, is shooting ourselves in
the foot.
