Letter to: Ms Paula Vasco. Derriford Hospital. Plymouth.

    Funding the National Health Service

    Dear Ms Vasco

Facts which you need to know and which you have never been told, which relate to funding the National Health Service.

Medicine is a dynamic activity, which is constantly striving to progress in the pursuit of better health for the individual. If the State wishes to take responsibility for medical treatment, the fact must be faced that new money is constantly required, in order to fund progress and prevent stagnation.

The crucial principle that must be known and understood by all, especially by politicians and economists, is the essential and all-important word NEW. New money is needed. Additional taxation will not serve, for the very simple reason that the heavy burden of tax is counter-productive and creates stress, which is itself the cause of illness.

Even doctors themselves may not be fully aware of this vital knowledge. But if you, with the unenviable task of attempting to balance the books, are not fully aware of what I am telling you, your job can break your heart.

Do not imagine that there is any real problem in providing additional new money for the National Health Service, when we raise our IQ on the subject, as to how it can be done and for that matter, understand why it is not done.

Things you need to know and which you must know are these. For an economy to flourish and prosper there must be economic growth and prosperity. If you think about it, a State health service demands economic health, otherwise it cannot properly serve the nation. Better by far to make do with barefoot doctors and leave the citizen to fend for himself.

But who wants a sick and insolvent economy. No one! So why do we have one? Pure ignorance is the answer. Nothing else. Know this. Money is man made stuff, we have as much or as little as we choose. Know this! We have chosen to give private bankers a monopoly on the creation of new money, provided they create and issue new money as credit.

Know this! This is what bankers do and earn themselves profits of over £30 billion per annum. They are sorely tempted to preserve this privilege, keep it a secret and move Heaven and Earth to maintain the status quo.

It is inevitable that you will not balance your books. You will be forced to make cuts in spending.

Know this! The Tonnage Act of 1694 gives the bankers this privilege. Repeal that Act, restore to Government the sole right to create and issue new money, and then instruct the Government how to do so correctly, without causing inflation. Now you will say, that you are only small fry and not able to wag the Dog.

But know this. You could have your photo, on the front page of every newspaper in the land, if you told the grassroots how to save the National Service and they will do all the work needed on your behalf. It might be possible that you could use my help to do all of this.

But know this. What I am telling you is doable . Because it is doable, it must be done, we have no choice but to do it.
