A better option than Nuclear Energy
Dear Mr Clover
In your well considered analytical appraisal, of Labour's intention
to go for nuclear energy as its favoured option, you mention the
need to limit air travel. But consider for a moment the billions
of pounds spent on the promotion of travel, and for regarding tourism
as a rational and essential industry, even though travel is probably
the most intractable source of CO2 emissions.
Surely our main consideration when trying to tackle global-warming,
should be the idea of changing our lifestyle. Better by far, for
the citizen, for each and everyone of us, to be taking our own initiative
on deciding to improve the quality of our lives. Such as leaving
the rat race and returning to a folk style economy, where microgeneration
of energy comes into its own.
Under existing global economics, that is impossible and is not
an option. But I know human beings well enough as a family doctor,
that if such an option was made attainable, it would be the lifestyle
we should prefer.
What is important to make known, is that this very different life
style, is readily available, if the will to achieve it came into
existence. It only involves a very slight change in the law, to
which nobody will object and that is, to restore to our Government,
its very ancient privilege of creating and issuing new money. At
present we are forced to borrow new money, into existence, when
new money is needed.
Our Government allows private banks to create new money and issue
it as credit. As a result we attempt to use debt as our currency.
We can only survive, by waging a commercial war, a war in which
fair trading is impossible.
The resulting rat race is destroying the planet and will eventually
exterminate life on this planet. You could use the threat of nuclear
energy to wake us up and see the truth of these statements. You
would enable us to so improve the quality of our lives, we should
never again sit in a gridlock and never again be herded like cattle
unto a flying bus at an airport.
To stop all that, what we have to do is make sure people really
understand that new money is needed all the time for prosperity
to flourish and new money must be issued by the Government, not
issued as a source of profit by private banks, otherwise our ultimate
survival will not be possible.
